“Hiring Abbie as our birth doula was worth every penny and then some! As first-time parents, Abbie was an incredible resource to prepare for the arrival of our daughter. We found her prenatal in-person sessions and YouTube videos to be particularly helpful. They helped us address specific concerns and learn about birth incrementally. Learning about birth and preparing for the arrival of a newborn is overwhelming, but Abbie made it relaxing and enjoyable. I am particularly grateful to Abbie for supporting me emotionally though the toughest parts of my pregnancy, for helping us adapt to delivery plan changes and immediately postpartum when I was troubleshooting breastfeeding issues. She was always prompt to reposing to texts and emails and was available to me by phone when I needed it. Abbie set us up well for our scheduled induction and helped set the tone for our birth experience. I was really impressed how seamlessly she working with Mercy’s labor and delivery staff. I was worried that having a doula would give me a stigma with the medical staff, but they have such a good relationship with Abbie that my fears were completely baseless. Our birth journey ended with an unplanned cesarean section, and Abbie helped to make that transition as smooth and cozy as possible. We’re so grateful to Abbie and would recommend her to anyone who is having a baby in Durango. Having Abbie on our team was one of the best investments we made.”

“If you’re on the fence about booking with a doula…DO IT! And book with Abbie! I knew I wanted a doula for my birth the minute I was pregnant. My husband took a little convincing but after our experience his exact words were, “Abbie is worth her weight in gold!”
I had a horrendous 34 hour labor that ended in a C-section. Abbie was there from the minute I got to the hospital for my induction setting up the candles and twinkle lights that we had wanted and creating a really nice ambience for the hospital room. As soon as my contractions were full on she was right there and never left our sides. She was such a comfort to me during my most vulnerable time with so many helpful interventions such as positions, water labor, aromatherapy and more. She also helped my husband so much that he felt much more empowered in helping me with her direction. We couldn’t have imagined going through all of this without her. She is extremely knowledgeable, kind, caring and ever so helpful during labor. She also was extremely helpful prior to delivery with sending videos every week and preparing us. And even with the C-section she stayed to make sure my recovery went well and to help with the breast-feeding journey. She checked in on us the next day and has been relentless in her help with overcoming my breast-feeding difficulties afterwards. We truly cannot recommend her enough! Five stars isn’t enough!”

The midwife, nurses and staff only come into your room to check on you every now and then, but Abbie was a constant presence. She even stayed at my bedside for hours after, talking and sharing the most special moments.
